Currently, there are several available positions with the Services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing People are:

HUMAN SERVICES SPECIALIST II

Mental Health Counselor I

Requirements:
A master's degree in social services, guidance, counseling or social work.
Must be fluent in American Sign Language.
Qualified to drive a state vehicle.
Day to day traveling over multi-counties is required.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Job purpose:
Under limited supervision, provides mental health treatment services to clients who are deaf or hard of hearing within a community mental health and school setting across multi-county areas.

Clinical Counselor

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and 1 (one) year of experience.
Must be fluent in American Sign Language.
Qualified to drive a state vehicle.
Day to day traveling over multi-counties is required.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Job Purpose:
Under general supervision coordinates the service provision for Deaf and Hard of Hearing consumers and their families in a multi-county area.
Manage and provide an array of behavioral health services.
(Internship for MA Programs possible)

Interpreter I

Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in sign language interpreting.
An associate degree in the field of interpreting arts may be substituted for the required experience.

Job purpose:
To convey communication between deaf and hearing individuals in a community mental health setting or inpatient facility.
As a facilitator of communication and cross-cultural mediation, the interpreter utilizes total communication methods to meet the needs of the situation to which he or she is assigned at a high level of competency.
